Action Floors builds and maintains sports floors for venues across New Zealand — from sprung timber courts built for playability and shock absorption, through to seamless polyurethane surfaces for high-traffic, full-time competition. We're the New Zealand representative for three specialist manufacturers: Action Floor Systems of the USA, specialists in Maple Hard Wood Timber Flooring; Boen of Norway, manufacturers of Boflex engineered timber flooring; and Herculan of the Netherlands, manufacturers of seamless polyurethane sports floors. Three systems, below, each suited to a different kind of venue and budget.

Pro Action Thrust
Pro Action Thrust is a floating floor system built to protect players through constant, high-level use. Layered natural rubber padding absorbs impact and adapts to how hard the floor is being played on — gentle for casual use, supportive under competition.
It's topped with genuine Maple Hard Wood Timber Flooring and certified to international standards for shock absorption and ball bounce.
Engineered Floors
Boflex Olympia
Boflex Olympia is built to work hard for decades, with a thicker hardwood top layer that takes more resurfaces over its life than a standard board. Progressive cushioning suits everything from casual community use to serious training, so one floor covers school lunchtimes, club nights and competition.
Boflex Dance
Boflex Dance gives dancers a smooth, forgiving surface built to support every style, from ballet to contemporary, cushioning joints without holding back precision. Built from renewable timber and trusted by studios and schools nationwide, it holds up to daily classes without losing the smooth finish dancers need.
Boflex Stadium
Boflex Stadium packs high shock absorption into one of the lowest profile constructions available, giving you sprung-floor performance without the extra build-up height. Its under-structure stays stable beneath heavy retractable seating, then plays exactly the same once the seating is rolled back.

Herculan MF Blue
Herculan MF Blue is a seamless, poured polyurethane floor built for heavy daily use — it keeps its grip and finish for years without the wear patterns you'd get from a lower-grade surface.
Herculan MF Blue also meets strict European standards for indoor air quality and emissions, meaning it's safe for players and staff from the moment it's installed — no waiting period needed before the space is back in full use.

Common Questions
It depends on the system and the size of the court. A full timber sprung floor typically takes several weeks from subfloor preparation to final line marking, while a seamless polyurethane floor is poured and cured in stages. We plan the programme around your booking calendar and give you firm dates before we start.
Yes. Most of our work is scheduled in off-season windows or school holidays. Tell us your fixed dates early and we will build the programme backwards from them.
For timber, a light sand and recoat every few years keeps the surface playing true; how often depends on hours of use, footwear policy and cleaning. Polyurethane floors are recoated rather than sanded, usually on a longer cycle.
Yes. Multi-sport line marking is standard, and we set out the layout with you so the primary sport reads clearly. Colours and priorities are agreed before any lines go down.
Our timber systems are built to recognised international sports flooring standards, covering shock absorption, ball bounce and surface friction. We can supply the relevant certification with your quote.
